The Gaza Strip has witnessed a tragic toll as Israeli airstrikes resumed following the expiration of a week-long truce, resulting in the death of at least 100 people on Friday morning.
Numerous others sustained varying degrees of injuries in the attacks that targeted multiple areas in the Palestinian enclave.
The government media office in Gaza issued a statement revealing that Israeli aircraft bombed inhabited homes and densely populated areas across several cities in the Gaza Strip.
The airstrikes have intensified tensions in the region, further fueling the longstanding conflict.
The armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), known as Al-Qassam Brigades, announced the resumption of attacks on Israeli cities in response to the Israeli strikes on Gaza.
In a press statement, Al-Qassam Brigades stated that they “targeted the cities of Ashkelon, Sderot, and Beersheba with rocket barrages.”
The situation remains highly volatile, with both sides exchanging hostilities and the civilian population caught in the crossfire.
The international community is closely monitoring the developments, urging restraint and a return to negotiations to achieve a lasting solution to the Israel-Gaza conflict.
