The Palestinian Ministry of Education stated in a press release on Tuesday that more than 15,000 children in the Gaza Strip, mostly school students and preschoolers, have fallen victim to the war initiated by Israel since October 7th last year.
The ministry added in its statement, coinciding with the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression observed annually on June 4th, that “this occasion is prominently titled (Children of Gaza) as they are the biggest victims of Israel’s war on Gaza, bearing a heavy price due to this aggression and its severe effects on them.”
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, had called for an end to the “unprecedented bloodshed” in the occupied West Bank, emphasizing that Israel’s killing of over 500 Palestinians there since October 7th last year is “entirely illogical.”
Türk mentioned in a statement, “As if the tragic events that occurred in Israel and then in Gaza over the past eight months were not enough, the residents of the occupied West Bank are subjected day after day to unprecedented bloodshed. It is entirely illogical that such a large number of lives are taken in this brutal manner.”
