The Israeli military disclosed on Wednesday the demise of two additional soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip.
The military stated that the soldiers, aged 25 and 24, were killed in combat in the region, according to reports by Israeli media outlets.
In a separate statement issued today, the Israeli military reported that warning sirens were activated in Nahal Oz, an area adjacent to the Gaza Strip.
The military had also announced on Tuesday evening that rocket alert sirens were sounded in the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon and towns near the Gaza Strip.
Israel continues its military operations in the Gaza Strip following a surprise attack by Hamas and other Palestinian factions on Israeli towns and positions near the border on October 7th.
The World Health Organization had said the hospital, Gaza’s second largest and crucial to the territory’s crippled health services, was unable to function during the weeklong raid, calling it “a massive blow to Gaza’s health system.”
The Gaza health ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, said early Sunday that 98 people had been killed overnight, with the Hamas media office reporting strikes along the length of the territory, from Beit Lahia in the north to Rafah in the south.
The figures cannot be verified and do not differentiate between fighters and civilians.
