Two women were killed, and four others injured in the Al-Qubba neighborhood, north of the Sixth Infantry Division’s headquarters in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, following fresh airstrikes executed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
These strikes targeted military bases without direct clashes between the army and RSF.
A medical source from El Fasher South Hospital reported to “Darfur 24” that the hospital received two deceased sisters, Muni Abkar Mangi and Hasniya Abkar Mangi, and four injured individuals identified as Mohammed Musa, Aisha Kamosh, and the young girls Rana and Razan Mohammed on Saturday evening.
The injured are in critical condition, necessitating urgent surgical intervention.
El Fasher witnessed intense clashes between the Sudanese army and RSF on Saturday morning, resulting in six shells falling in the Abu Shouk displaced persons camp, fortunately without loss of life.
Witnesses from the Abu Shouk camp told “Darfur 24” that the skirmishes took place at the entrance of the Milleit gate and around the camp, with several shells landing in the homes of residents within the camp.
On the preceding Monday, three civilians suffered severe injuries due to the resurgence of hostilities. The area around the Abu Shouk displaced persons camp saw fierce battles at the beginning of the month, resulting in four fatalities and three injuries following a shell explosion in the Nevasa market.
Earlier in the month, RSF shelling on the camp led to five individuals, including three children, sustaining serious injuries and being transferred to El Fasher South Hospital for treatment.
Conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF in El Fasher has been intermittently erupting since mid-April of the previous year, causing over 200 civilian deaths and injuries, according to unofficial statistics.
