The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has confirmed a tragic escalation in the number of casualties resulting from the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The toll now stands at 2,450 martyrs, with an additional 9,200 individuals sustaining various injuries. This distressing update was released in a concise statement issued by the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
Palestinian officials have vehemently rejected Israel’s plan to forcibly displace the residents of Gaza from their homes, pushing them to leave the region as part of a broader scheme to depopulate Gaza.
This counters Israel’s agenda to empty the Gaza Strip of Palestinians, a strategy driven by far-right government officials within the occupied territories.
Furthermore, Hussein Al-Sheikh, Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Palestinian Minister of Civil Affairs, engaged in a telephone conversation with the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, on Sunday.
The discussion focused on exploring ways to halt the aggression in Gaza. Hussein Al-Sheikh shared the details of their conversation via his “X” platform account.
Hussein Al-Sheikh emphasized the urgent need for international pressure to cease the aggression in Gaza, the immediate opening of humanitarian corridors, a categorical rejection of the displacement of the Palestinian people from their homeland, and the coordination of Arab efforts.
They also discussed reaching out to countries worldwide to convey a clear and steadfast position.
Ismail Haniyeh, Head of the Political Bureau of the Hamas movement, reaffirmed on Saturday that there will be no emigration of Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt.
He commended Egypt’s stance, which rejects emigration, settlement, and displacement to Egypt.
Haniyeh stated, “Egypt is our nurturing homeland and always welcomes Palestinians. We assure you, Egypt, that we remain on our land, and your decision to reject settlement is our decision too.”
