The Turkish authorities, on Friday, detained 29 undocumented migrants carrying Syrian nationality in the Adırna province, which borders Bulgaria and Greece, in the northwestern part of the country.
The governor’s office of Adırna, in an official statement, revealed that these migrants were captured inside two vehicles that were stopped by Turkish gendarmerie units near the Bulgarian border.
The statement further noted, “They have been transferred to the Immigration Directorate to undergo legal procedures against them.” The statement also indicated the arrest of two other individuals suspected of smuggling these migrants, without mentioning their nationalities.
