The Health Ministry in Gaza revealed on Thursday that the death toll has risen to at least 3,785 Palestinians, with another 12,493 sustaining injuries due to Israeli airstrikes since October 7th, as reported by Reuters.
During a press conference, ministry spokesperson Ashraf Al-Qudra shared the grim statistics, stating that among the total casualties, “1,524 were children, 1,000 were women, and 120 were elderly individuals. Additionally, 3,983 children and 3,300 women were among those injured.”
Al-Qudra also tragically noted that 44 healthcare workers lost their lives in Gaza, while four hospitals and 14 primary care centers have been taken out of service.
“The situation is dire, with no reserves of medications, medical supplies, or fuel in any of Gaza’s hospitals,” Al-Qudra emphasized.
“We urge the international community to expedite humanitarian aid delivery.”
On Wednesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that no fewer than 3,478 Palestinians had lost their lives, and 12,000 were injured in Israeli strikes, with the majority being civilians, including children and women.
In Israel, more than 1,400 people have been killed since Hamas launched unprecedented attacks on October 7th, with most of them being civilians.
Additionally, 203 individuals are currently held captive by Hamas, according to the Israeli Defense Forces.
Over one million people have fled their homes to seek refuge in other areas, particularly in the southern region of Gaza, either to escape the relentless bombings or due to Israel’s evacuation warnings for the city of Gaza, as reported by Agence France-Presse.
