The Ukrainian military announced today that the number of Russian soldiers killed since the beginning of the Russian war on Ukraine in February 2022 has risen to 395,200, including 930 soldiers who died yesterday, Saturday alone.
This information was disclosed in a statement released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their Facebook page, as reported by the Ukrainian National News Agency “Ukrinform” today.
According to the statement, the Ukrainian forces have destroyed 6,406 tanks, including 12 tanks just yesterday, 11,956 armored combat vehicles, 9,475 artillery systems, 981 multiple launch rocket systems, and 666 air defense systems.
Additionally, the statement noted that 332 aircraft, 325 helicopters, 7,257 drones, 1,881 cruise missiles, 24 warships, one submarine, 12,592 vehicles and fuel tanks, and 1,513 units of special equipment have been destroyed.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which began with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, has led to significant military, economic, and geopolitical ramifications for both nations. Despite initial advances, Russian forces have struggled to achieve their objectives, facing strong resistance from Ukrainian forces and international condemnation. The conflict has resulted in substantial casualties, widespread destruction, and a significant humanitarian crisis, with millions of Ukrainians displaced both internally and abroad.
Efforts to resolve the conflict have been complex, with various international actors involved in mediation attempts. However, the situation remains fluid, with ongoing military engagements and the potential for further escalation. The war has not only deepened the enmity between Russia and Ukraine but has also significantly impacted Russia’s relations with Europe and the United States, making the restoration of normalcy in these relationships challenging.
