Four Palestinians were killed by Israeli army gunfire in the occupied West Bank on Thursday and Friday, according to multiple sources.
The Israeli military reported that five security personnel were wounded in a clash involving an explosive device in Tulkarem, as confirmed by a Palestinian faction.
On Thursday evening, dozens of Israeli settlers attacked the homes of Palestinian residents in the town of Hawara, south of Nablus in the West Bank.
Israeli forces also fired live ammunition and tear gas in the vicinity of the town.
Nablus mosques called on Palestinian civilians to confront settler aggression in the town, leading to violent clashes with Israeli forces and settlers, resulting in numerous injuries among Palestinians.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that 25 people, including four children, suffered from suffocation due to inhaling toxic tear gas during the clashes in Hawara.
Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesman for the Palestinian presidency, stated that Israeli authorities have crossed all red lines by persisting in a policy of killing and raiding our cities, villages, and refugee camps.
Abu Rudeineh added that the Israeli government and the U.S. administration bear responsibility for the serious crimes committed by occupation soldiers and settlers throughout Palestinian territories, including the recent attack by settlers on the residents and homes in Hawara, the killing of four youths in Tulkarem and Hawara, and the ongoing incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and holy sites.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated that the killing of Palestinian citizen Lubayyed Dmeidi in Hawara is an application of calls by the extremist Israeli minister Smotrich, who called for the “annihilation” of Hawara.
Qassem added that the escalating attacks against our people in the West Bank by settlers are encouraged and supported by the occupation government to pursue their Nazi terrorist behavior.
He stressed that this escalating terrorism from the settlers’ government will not intimidate the Palestinian people, who will continue their legitimate struggle to expel the occupation and its settlers.
