The New South Wales Fire Service in Australia has announced the outbreak of over 50 wildfires due to the country’s soaring temperatures. A total fire ban has been imposed in several areas, including the capital, Sydney.
According to the statement issued on their social media page, as reported by the American channel Alhurra on Saturday, more than 700 firefighters and disaster response personnel are working across the state to combat these fires, amidst severe risks of widespread blazes.
Large parts of Australia are experiencing an intense heatwave today, prompting the country’s meteorological service to issue warnings of bushfires in several states.
The meteorological service has issued warnings about the heatwave and the risk of wildfires in parts of Western Australia, New South Wales, and the Northern Territory. South Australia is also expected to experience a heatwave, though no fire warnings have been issued there yet.
