In a strategic move, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the militant wing of the Hamas movement, declared they executed a synchronized attack on over 50 locations within the Gaza Division and southern region of the Israeli army, signaling a dramatic escalation in the ongoing conflict.
The Brigades detailed in a statement, relayed by the “Arab World News Agency”, that the attack was carried out under the guise of “intense rocket cover and targeting of Israeli command and control systems”. Fighters from the movement were reportedly able to breach the Israeli army’s defensive line, resulting in the breakdown of the division’s defenses.
According to Al-Qassam’s statement, “Our Mujahideen are still fighting heroic battles in 25 locations up to this moment, with combat presently happening at the (Re’im) base, the headquarters of the Gaza Division.”
“The Times of Israel” reported that the death toll from the Hamas attack has surged past 100, while the number of injuries has climbed to 800. In retaliation, Israeli aircraft executed a series of aggressive raids on the Gaza Strip. Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that Palestinian casualties from Israeli raids have ascended to 198, with the number of injuries standing at 1610.
In response to the organized attack, a slew of vehement airstrikes were launched by Israeli aircraft across the Gaza Strip, marking a continued period of intensified conflict and rising tolls in a region already steeped in persistent turmoil.
