The main hospital in Al-Fashir, Sudan, has been rendered non-operational following an attack, as reported by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and confirmed by the General Director of the North Darfur State Health Ministry, Ibrahim Abdullah Khater.
According to Khater, the Southern Hospital had to cease its operations, leading to the evacuation of patients to other healthcare facilities.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) accused the Sudanese army of continuing retaliatory attacks against civilians.
In a statement, the RSF claimed that the army conducted retaliatory airstrikes targeting the localities of Kuma in North Darfur.
These strikes reportedly hit the Qandahar livestock market, resulting in over 50 fatalities and dozens of injuries, most of whom were women, as reported by Sputnik News.
The RSF condemned these attacks as severe violations of international humanitarian law. They called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to denounce the army’s actions and hold them accountable for the repeated and selective targeting of civilian areas.
In a related development, the RSF released 537 detained Sudanese police officers. This action was in response to an initiative by Idris Abu Qroon, a notable figure in Sudan’s Sufi community.
The RSF stated that the decision was made to protect the lives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) staff and the detainees themselves.
