The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Friday that the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has destroyed about 62% of all homes in the sector.
The agency, via its platform on “X,” indicated that vital infrastructure, including that belonging to the agency and buildings housing displaced families, has come under attack.
More than 75% of Gaza’s population are displaced due to the war, with the majority having been displaced multiple times.
The Gaza Strip, a densely populated Palestinian territory bordered by Israel and Egypt, has experienced multiple conflicts with Israel over the years, resulting in significant humanitarian crises.
The recent conflict has escalated tensions and led to widespread destruction of infrastructure and loss of life.
UNRWA plays a crucial role in providing humanitarian aid and support to Palestinian refugees in Gaza and other areas affected by conflict in the region.
