According to a recent UN report, rebuilding homes in Gaza might extend into the next century, mirroring delays seen in past conflicts.
Released on Thursday, the report highlights the extensive damage wrought by nearly seven months of Israeli bombardment.
This sustained offensive has left numerous high-rise buildings in the densely populated area in ruins, turning them into what one UN official described as a “moonscape” of debris.
Palestinian sources indicate that approximately 80,000 residences were obliterated during the conflict, which began with deadly assaults by Hamas on southern Israel on October 7.
These strikes have also resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians.
