In a pivotal meeting, Rula Ma’ayah, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Palestine, welcomed Dr. Alessandro Mancini, the Special Envoy for the Tourism Sector in the Promotional Committee for Rome’s bid to host Expo 2030.
Accompanying Dr. Mancini were Deputy Consul General of Italy in Jerusalem, Alessandro Totino, and Dr. Vincenzo Pizzolante, along with other founding partners of Connect2Italy.
Minister Ma’ayah emphasized the importance of promoting tourism in Palestine and its vast potential to attract tourist groups from various countries around the world. She spoke highly of Palestine’s unique historical and religious sites, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Church of the Nativity, and the Ibrahim Mosque in Hebron.
According to Ma’ayah, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is taking significant steps to improve the tourism landscape through multi-faceted planning and programming, particularly focusing on direct networking channels with tourism agencies globally.
The Minister also touched upon Palestine’s marketing strategy for tourism promotion. The approach involves opening new markets and overcoming challenges facing the Palestinian tourism sector, in addition to participating in international tourism events.
The meeting signifies a collaborative step towards enhancing tourism relations between Palestine and Italy and brings to light the importance of international cooperation in promoting tourism as a vital economic sector.
