Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani affirmed that the shared priorities between Rome and London are peace in the Middle East and Ukraine, along with a strong international movement to combat illegal immigration and human trafficking.
This was stated during a phone call between Tajani and British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, as reported by the Italian news agency AKI. Tajani also emphasized the strong ties of friendship between Italy and the United Kingdom in light of the challenges they will face together with Italy’s upcoming presidency of the Group of Seven next year.
They maintained that the two countries collaborate closely not only on migration issues but also in many other fields, adding, “In fact, today we are two of the closest nations in Europe.”
