The US Defense Department announced that Northrop Grumman Systems, based in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, has been granted a $265 million contract enhancement to continue providing engineering support for the Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) program.
This modification to a previously existing agreement covers sustaining engineering and logistics support for G/ATOR, including engineering alterations, contractor logistics, and depot lifecycle support.
Additionally, the contract will facilitate the upgrade of six Gallium Arsenide G/ATOR systems to gallium nitrite technology, purchases of operational spares, software development for existing and forthcoming radar systems, and adaptations for the 5G spectrum.
The completion of this 22-month project is anticipated by 28 September 2025.
