In Aden, the capital of Yemen, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, engaged in critical discussions on Monday with the European Union (EU) Ambassador Gabriel Vinales and ambassadors from Germany and France.
The meeting focused on the ongoing efforts to establish peace and resume the political process in the region.
According to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the meeting also addressed the recent Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.
Yemen’s stance calls for an immediate ceasefire and welcomes the humanitarian truce, urging an end to the Israeli occupation’s violations in Palestine.
The European ambassadors expressed their commitment to regularly convening meetings in the Yemeni capital, Aden.
This move underscores their support for the Yemeni government and their solidarity with efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution and restore security and stability in the region.
The Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, called on Monday for an extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
This extension aims to allow the entry of more humanitarian aid and the release of a greater number of hostages.
According to the Al-Sharq News website, Stoltenberg told reporters, “I call for the extension of the ceasefire. This will allow (the entry of) more aid needed by the people of Gaza and the release of more hostages” held in the sector.
The ceasefire, which entered its fourth and final day on Monday, is the first in the fighting that erupted more than seven weeks ago.
