The UAE field hospital in Gaza has commenced operations, welcoming its first patients on Monday.
The hospital received two Palestinian youths with severe fractures, marking the beginning of its critical medical services in the region.
The first case attended by the hospital was a 17-year-old boy suffering from a right ankle fracture and an open wound on his right knee, requiring urgent surgical intervention to stabilize the fracture.
The second case involved a 13-year-old teenager with an open fracture in his right femur bone, also in need of surgical treatment.
The specialized medical team from the UAE, stationed at the field hospital in Gaza, consists of highly qualified personnel experienced in various medical fields. They immediately began treating these cases.
This fully integrated UAE field hospital in Gaza was inaugurated just two days ago, as part of the United Arab Emirates’ efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian siblings and support the health system in Gaza, which faces exceptional and critical circumstances.
Overseen by an Emirati medical team, the hospital, with a capacity of over 150 beds, is part of the “Gallant Knight 3” humanitarian operation to provide aid and assistance to the residents of the Gaza Strip.
The hospital is equipped with surgical rooms capable of performing various types of surgeries, including general surgery, pediatric surgery, and vascular surgery.
It also features intensive care units for adults and children, an anesthesia department, and specialized clinics covering internal medicine, dentistry, orthopedics, psychiatry, family medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, and supportive medical services.
Additionally, the hospital offers computed tomography (CT) scans, X-rays, and pharmacy services, and is equipped with a laboratory containing state-of-the-art equipment for a variety of tests and examinations. This enables the hospital to provide comprehensive treatment to its patients, adhering to the highest international standards and protocols.
