Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, welcomed Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al Sabah, in Riyadh on Tuesday.
The leaders engaged in discussions aimed at further enhancing the close fraternal relations between their countries.
The meeting took place at Arqa Palace, with the presence of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Emir Meshal’s visit to Riyadh marks his first foreign visit since ascending the throne. He was received by Crown Prince Mohammed upon arrival, and the meeting was attended by various officials, including Governor of the Riyadh region, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait, Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid, and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah al-Ahmad Al Sabah.
During the visit, Saudi fighter jets accompanied Sheikh Meshal’s plane as it traversed Saudi Arabia.
In a symbolic gesture, Saudi Falcon jets released the colors of the Kuwaiti flag while flying overhead.
The visit underscores the commitment of the Saudi and Kuwaiti leaderships to maintain continuous communication on various issues and strengthen bilateral relations.
