In a significant development for agricultural education and cooperation, Morocco and France have entered into a cooperation protocol focusing on agricultural technical and vocational training, higher agricultural, veterinary, and forestry education.
The agreement was signed in Paris, underscoring the shared commitment to advancing agricultural education and collaboration between the two nations.
The protocol was signed by representatives from Morocco’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests, and France’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty.
The signing ceremony, attended by Moroccan Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, and French Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Marc Fesneau, took place on the sidelines of the International Agriculture Show in Paris, which runs from February 24 to March 3, 2024.
This collaboration aims to foster and enhance exchanges between educational and vocational training institutions in both countries, facilitating their interactions with other stakeholders in the sector, particularly those involved in agricultural chains and the Moroccan and French food industries.
The agreement is set to enhance mutual mobility, strengthen partnerships between institutions, and promote the exchange of expertise in training.
It reflects the high-quality technical cooperation between Morocco and France, particularly in the context of food security challenges posed by climate change and the agricultural and food trade relations.
The signing ceremony was preceded by a bilateral working meeting between Ministers Sadiki and Fesneau, where both parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of French-Moroccan technical cooperation.
Discussions during the meeting primarily focused on food security issues in the context of climate change and the prospects for enhancing cooperation in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors.
This agreement marks a significant step in strengthening the agricultural education and cooperation framework between Morocco and France, aiming to address contemporary challenges in agriculture and food security through shared expertise and collaboration.
