The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported on Sunday that US forces successfully destroyed a mobile surface-to-air missile system located in a territory controlled by Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Additionally, according to the statement released by CENTCOM, US forces intercepted and shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the Red Sea.
The statement further indicated that a coalition vessel detected, engaged, and destroyed an inbound anti-ship missile.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or damages reported as a result of these actions.
The Houthi rebels, designated as a terror group by the US, have repeatedly threatened to target ships belonging to Israel, Britain, and the United States, as well as vessels destined for Israeli ports.
These threats have disrupted maritime traffic along the crucial trade route amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
The US, leading an international coalition tasked with safeguarding shipping routes in the Red Sea, has been actively targeting Houthi installations in Yemen since mid-January.
