An Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle on the Kafr Dajjal-Nabatiyeh road in southern Lebanon on Thursday morning, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to three students who were nearby in a school bus.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. local time.
The targeted vehicle was engulfed in flames following the missile strike, prompting emergency response teams, including the Civil Defense, Red Cross, Islamic Health Authority, and Scout Association, to rush to the scene.
They worked diligently to extinguish the fire and transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
Initial reports from the National News Agency (NNA) identified the deceased as Mohammad Ali Nasser Fran, born in 1989 in Nabatiyeh. Fran was a physics teacher at Sabbah High School in the Nabatiyeh district.
Hezbollah has since mourned him as one of their members.
The Israeli military has confirmed the strike, stating it targeted “Mohammad Ali Nasser Fran, responsible for manufacturing combat equipment” for Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
The NNA also reported significant Israeli reconnaissance aircraft activity over the western and central sectors of southern Lebanon on Thursday, indicating heightened surveillance in the region.
