Libya has been in a state of turmoil since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011, leading to prolonged civil conflict and political instability.
The country has been divided between rival administrations in the east and west, each backed by different militias and foreign powers.
The United Nations has been working towards fostering dialogue and reconciliation among Libyan factions to stabilize the country.
In recent years, there have been significant efforts to rebuild and stabilize Libya, leading to a fragile peace process.
This has allowed for the gradual return of diplomatic missions and consular services, which were previously suspended due to security concerns.
