Egypt’s delegate to the Arab League, Mohamed Mustafa Orfy, stated that Israeli authorities have committed a new crime, flagrantly violating international laws and norms.
During his speech at the emergency meeting to discuss the recent developments in Jenin, he emphasized that the use of war machinery in Jenin undermines any opportunity for achieving peace within the framework of the two-state solution.
Orfy considered the events in Jenin inseparable from the violations occurring at Al-Aqsa Mosque, which represents a clear challenge and provocation to the feelings of over a billion Muslims. He praised the Hashemite custodianship over the religious sites in Jerusalem.
He stressed that the two-state solution, with the establishment of a Palestinian state and its capital in East Jerusalem, is the only guarantee and path to achieve peace.
He expressed his gratitude to the member states of the Arab League for accepting the invitation to convene the meeting in less than 24 hours from the start of the Israeli attacks.
