The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced that on Saturday, it targeted a vital site within the occupied territories of “Israel”. This was stated in a statement released by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq on the Telegram platform today, Saturday.
The statement mentioned, “The warriors of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq launched a drone attack this Saturday morning, June 8, 2024, targeting a vital site within our occupied territories. We reaffirm our commitment to continue pounding the enemy strongholds as part of the second phase of the resistance operations against the occupation, in support of our people in Gaza, and in response to the Zionist massacres against unarmed Palestinian civilians.”
Since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza last October, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has launched hundreds of attacks using drones and missiles targeting U.S. military bases in both Iraq and Syria, as well as bombing Israeli military sites and installations within the Palestinian territories and the occupied Golan Heights.
Recent months have seen an escalation in attacks by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq against Israel. These attacks have been characterized by the use of advanced weaponry, including drones and missiles, targeting vital Israeli infrastructure such as military bases and oil terminals. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of Iran-backed militias, has claimed responsibility for numerous strikes on Israeli soil, particularly following heightened tensions due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
