The Acting Head of the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taher Al-Baour, met with the US Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on supporting both local and international efforts aimed at conducting elections under fair laws and concluding the transitional phases.
The discussions also covered the latest political developments in Libya, various political and economic issues, and supporting the United Nations’ mission in Libya to address political deadlock and guide the country towards elections, fulfilling the aspirations and desires of the Libyan people.
Norland described his talks with Al-Baour as “productive,” highlighting the importance of revitalizing the UN-led political process and the shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation on issues impacting Libya and the region.
