The death toll in Gaza due to ongoing Israeli attacks has tragically risen to 37,658, according to health authorities in the enclave as reported on Tuesday. Over the past 24 hours alone, 32 Palestinians lost their lives, and 139 others were injured, bringing the total number of injuries to 86,237 since the conflict escalated in October 2023.
Hamas-run health authorities also issued a statement warning of critical shortages of medicines and medical supplies necessary to sustain their services amid the ongoing crisis. They urgently called on international institutions to intervene swiftly and provide the essential supplies needed to save lives.
In a separate statement, Hamas condemned the Israeli government for what they termed as flagrant violations of international laws and humanitarian values. They accused Israel of deliberately targeting innocent civilians and perpetrating what they described as horrific massacres.
Moreover, Hamas placed blame on the U.S. administration for enabling what they labeled a “genocidal war” in Gaza by providing unwavering political and military support to Israel. They asserted that this support has empowered Israel to continue its campaign of destruction in the region.
The Israeli offensive in Gaza intensified following a Hamas incursion into southern Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, during which approximately 1,200 individuals were killed and around 250 were taken hostage.
