UEFA has officially excluded Juventus from the upcoming 2023-24 edition of the Conference League and imposed a €10 million fine on the club due to financial irregularities.
The exclusion and fine were part of the best-case scenario set by UEFA for Juventus.
However, the fine could increase to €20 million if the club fails to meet the Financial Fair Play requirements over the next three years.
The decision comes after the UEFA Club Financial Control Body’s (CFCB) First Chamber found that Juventus had violated UEFA’s regulatory framework and breached the settlement agreement signed in August 2022.
As a result, the settlement agreement with the club was terminated.
Juventus’ spot in the Conference League preliminary rounds will now be taken by Fiorentina, who finished in eighth place.
The CFCB’s actions are part of their ongoing efforts to ensure financial fairness and compliance within European football clubs.
