Four Kurdish Workers’ Party fighters were killed, and another was wounded on Friday in a Turkish drone strike in the Sulaymaniyah Governorate, northern Iraq, according to the Kurdistan Region’s Counterterrorism Agency.
Shahu Othman, the mayor of Sharbazher district, stated that the five individuals were in their car in the area when they were hit by the drone, with the vehicle being struck twice within ten minutes.
Turkey has been conducting a long-term campaign in Iraq and Syria against the Kurdish Workers’ Party and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units.
Ankara considers both the Kurdish Workers’ Party and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units as terrorist groups.
Turkey has been consistently carrying out airstrikes in northern Iraq, maintaining dozens of military sites within Iraqi territory.
