The Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate announced today the arrest of four terrorists in the provinces of Anbar and Salahuddin, located in the western and central parts of the country.
According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), a statement released by the Directorate’s media conveyed, “Based on precise intelligence, tightly coordinated ambushes were set up in the Hamrin area and Rumeila village.
These led to the capture of four terrorists wanted by the judiciary under Article Four of the Counter-Terrorism Law in the districts of Fallujah, Rutba, and Al-Dour.” The statement further noted that the detainees were handed over to judicial authorities.
It’s worth mentioning that only two days ago, Iraqi forces detained six other terrorists in operations spanning the provinces of Anbar, Kirkuk, and Salahuddin.
On Tuesday, the Iraqi authorities announced that they have successfully targeted and eliminated a hideout housing terrorists during an airstrike in Kirkuk.
According to various Iraqi media outlets, the Security Media Cell confirmed the execution of this airborne strike against ISIS targets near Kirkuk earlier today.
In an official statement, the cell mentioned, “In continuation of the proactive strategy to hunt down ISIS terrorists, and based on accurate intelligence from the Military Intelligence Directorate under the supervision, planning, and monitoring of the Joint Operations Command’s targeting cell, our air force, utilizing F16 aircraft, conducted a successful airstrike in the Wadi Al-Shay region within the operational sector of Kirkuk. This operation resulted in the destruction of the hideout and the neutralization of the terrorists inside.”
