The UAE Aid Coordination Office in Chad continues its relief efforts by providing support to Sudanese refugees and the local community.
These efforts involve intensive field visits to numerous villages and border areas near Sudan. The coordination is carried out in partnership with the UAE humanitarian team, which includes the UAE Red Crescent Authority, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works.
Earlier this week, the aid coordination office initiated its relief activities with field visits to the “Saiqua” region, where they distributed food baskets benefiting 1,200 families.
Rashid Saeed Al Shamsi, the Ambassador of the UAE to Chad, stated that the presence of the UAE Aid Coordination Office in Am Djara, Chad, has effectively facilitated the coordination of UAE humanitarian efforts.
This coordination involves field visits to identify the essential needs of Sudanese refugees and the local community in Am Djara and nearby border villages. Collaboration with the medical team at the UAE field hospital encompasses various medical specialties.
Al Shamsi further noted that the UAE Aid Coordination Office continues to enhance collaboration with Chadian authorities, contributing to the facilitation of the UAE humanitarian team’s tasks.
The support is aimed at enabling the team to carry out their missions effectively and ensuring the delivery of assistance to those in need.
