On Thursday, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, commended the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its pivotal role in advancing the values of human fraternity across the globe.
Dr. El-Tayeb spoke highly of the UAE, highlighting it as an inspiring model for the Arab and Islamic world in fostering fraternity and peaceful human coexistence.
In a meeting with Mariam Al Kaabi, the UAE Ambassador to Cairo and the Permanent Representative to the Arab League, the Grand Imam emphasized the strong bonds of respect and admiration that Al-Azhar holds for the UAE and its leaders, notably Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Head of State.
On her part, Al Kaabi expressed her delight and pride at meeting the Grand Imam, acknowledging the UAE’s deep appreciation for his seminal role in embedding values of tolerance and human fraternity. She lauded his efforts to portray a harmonious and balanced image of Islam. Ambassador Al Kaabi also conveyed the cordial greetings and well wishes of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Grand Imam.
Previously, Grand Imam El-Tayeb has acknowledged the UAE as a distinctive example of fostering tolerance and shared existence among diverse nationalities and cultures. He commended the country’s relentless pursuit of peace and the propagation of goodwill around the world.
