Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune revealed on Sunday a reduction in the hosting costs for websites provided by Algerian telecommunications services.
During the ceremony for the presentation of the Professional Journalist Award, President Tebboune, represented by the Minister of Communications, Mohammed Laâkab, emphasized that the cost reduction ranges between 33% and 36%, while also increasing the hosting capacity.
This move is expected to greatly benefit individuals and businesses operating websites in Algeria, as it will make web hosting services more affordable and accessible.
The reduction in costs aligns with Algeria’s commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure and supporting the online presence of its citizens.
Furthermore, Tebboune also announced plans to reduce rental rates at the Press House, demonstrating the government’s dedication to supporting journalism and media organizations in the country.
These initiatives underscore Algeria’s efforts to promote a thriving digital ecosystem, facilitate the growth of online businesses, and ensure the continued vitality of the journalism sector.
