In an effort to enhance bilateral cooperation and strategic dialogue between Algeria and the United States, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf recently met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Michele Sison. Their discussions focused on areas of mutual interest, notably the prospect of strengthening coordination between the two nations in various joint-affiliated international organizations and bodies, including the United Nations Human Rights Council and Security Council.

In this context, Sison expressed the U.S.’s appreciation and support for Algeria’s efforts in fostering stability and development in its regional neighborhood and on the continent at large.
Both parties expressed a shared political will and a steadfast readiness to solidify consultation and coordination whenever necessary and possible. This commitment is aimed at contributing to negotiated peaceful solutions to crises, and also to boost the role of multilateral action in confronting comprehensive international challenges.
