Artifact has introduced a new feature that enables users to utilize AI to produce cover art for their content.
The company asserts that this feature will incorporate visually appealing images, enhancing users’ ability to convey their narratives effectively.
Historically, Artifact functioned as an AI-powered news application developed by Instagram’s co-founders, curating news and links from across the internet.
With the integration of direct content sharing and personalization capabilities, it is increasingly competing with platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
The recently unveiled Artifact feature is accessible on the latest iterations of the app on both iOS and Android. To access it, users must create a post, click on the “+” icon within the photo frame, and choose “Create with AI.”
Subsequently, they can input a description or keywords, such as “climate,” to generate an image corresponding to their content, such as a natural landscape.
Users can also specify the style, genre, or medium they desire, such as “anime” or “digital art,” and save the image generated by the AI tool. In case they are dissatisfied with the image, users can either input the same prompts or experiment with new ones.
This tool is just one of several AI-powered features that Artifact has introduced to its platform since its launch in January. The app also relies on AI for article summarization, identifying clickbait articles, and even offering the option to have news articles read aloud by celebrity voices.
