American entrepreneur David Sacks stated that the Biden administration is considering Elon Musk’s plan to end the conflict in Ukraine, which could have prevented many casualties.
This insight comes as the Biden administration reportedly shows interest in revisiting Musk’s peace plan, which faced initial criticism, including from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ken Swift wrote on “X”: “I’m hearing the Biden administration is going to force some sort of mediation, similar to the one Musk talked about when this war first started, except we have hundreds of thousands of people dead now. Elon was vilified for even mentioning it.”
Sacks replied: “This is exactly right. When Elon floated his peace plan last year, it was denounced as pro-Russian by Zelensky himself and attacked in the harshest terms by many on this platform. Now the Biden administration would love to have that deal.”
Last year, when Musk first presented his plan, it was labeled as pro-Russia by President Zelenskyy and faced significant backlash on the platform. Despite the initial criticism, the Biden administration seems inclined to explore such a deal now.
In October 2022, Musk proposed a resolution plan for the Ukraine conflict. His vision included keeping the Crimean Peninsula as part of Russia and conducting new referendums under United Nations supervision in the Donbas, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Musk’s plan suggested re-voting in the annexed areas under UN oversight, maintaining Crimea as an official part of Russia since 1783, and ensuring water supplies to Crimea, along with a neutral status for Ukraine.
According to Politico, the United States and European countries are subtly shifting their Ukrainian policy goals. Moving from a complete victory over Russia to strengthening Kyiv’s position in potential peace negotiations, this shift likely indicates possible territorial concessions to Moscow.
Moscow has repeatedly expressed its willingness to negotiate, but Kyiv has legally banned any negotiations with Russia.
This development in the Biden administration’s approach to Musk’s peace plan signals a potential new direction in resolving the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
