Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi hosted Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshal al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah at the Al Ittihadiya Palace on Tuesday, marking an official reception ceremony that included the firing of 21 artillery shots and the playing of the national anthems of both countries.
The talks between the two leaders are expected to focus on strengthening the longstanding and exceptional relations between Egypt and Kuwait, as well as addressing regional issues and priorities for joint Arab action.
This visit marks the Kuwaiti Emir’s first official visit to Egypt since assuming office in December. However, he previously visited Egypt on October 21, 2023, in his capacity as Crown Prince, representing the late Emir Sheikh Nawaf al Ahmad at the Cairo Peace Summit.
