Joint Egyptian-British military training exercises dedicated to combating terrorism commenced in Egypt on Tuesday.
The exercises are set to continue over several days at the combat training fields of the Egyptian Special Forces Command.
The Egyptian Armed Forces spokesperson announced that the training activities began with the alignment and integration of forces, alongside a showcase of the weapons and equipment being utilized for training purposes.
He detailed that the plan includes executing a variety of training activities between the participating Egyptian and British forces.
In January, the Egyptian and British military engineers engaged in collaborative training at the headquarters of Egypt’s Military Engineers Institute. It focused on effectively countering improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The training encompassed a series of theoretical and practical activities, introducing advanced methods using the latest tools to detect and handle IEDs on roads and in facilities, Abdel-Hafez said at the time.
In late 2022, the Egyptian-British Hurghada Air Show 2022 was held in Hurghada’s Sahl Hashish, with the participation of the Egyptian Air Force’s Silver Stars and the British Royal Air Force aerobatic team Red Arrows.
