In a remarkable development for Egypt’s agricultural sector, the nation’s exports of agricultural goods have seen a substantial increase, as revealed by recent data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The total value of Egyptian exports soared beyond the $3 billion mark during the first eleven months of 2023, showcasing a notable growth compared to the same period in 2022.
According to the statistical data, the aggregate exports of Egyptian agricultural products reached approximately $3.266 billion from January to November 2023. This figure marks an increase of over $254 million from the $3.012 billion recorded during the corresponding period in 2022.
Mango exports stood at the forefront of Egypt’s agricultural export goods, with the export value hitting around $112.911 million in the first eleven months of last year.
This represents a significant rise of $26.336 million from the $86.575 million reported in the same timeframe in 2022. Following closely were aniseed exports, which amounted to $47.206 million, up by $18.408 million from the previous year’s $28.798 million.
The list of exported agricultural goods also featured fresh strawberries, with earnings reaching $76.445 million, up from $58.395 million in 2022, marking an increase of $18.050 million.
Additionally, exports of temporarily preserved olives contributed significantly, totaling $17.304 million, a significant leap from the $6.773 million recorded in the same period the previous year, reflecting a growth of approximately $10.531 million.
This surge in agricultural exports highlights Egypt’s growing prominence in the global agricultural market, driven by an increase in the quality and quantity of its produce.
The nation continues to strengthen its position as a key exporter of agricultural goods, bolstering its economy and affirming its agricultural sector’s vitality on the international stage.
