Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced via his official social media accounts that he has tasked Dr. Mostafa Madbouly with forming a new government.
President Sisi stated, “Today, I have tasked Dr. Mostafa Madbouly with forming a new government that includes the necessary expertise and capabilities to manage the upcoming phase, achieve the desired development in government performance, and address the challenges facing the state.”
On June 3, 2024, President Sisi received Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, who submitted the resignation of the current government. President Sisi then assigned him to form a new government composed of highly skilled and experienced individuals. The new government is expected to achieve several goals, including maintaining Egyptian national security amid regional and international challenges, prioritizing human development, particularly in health and education, and continuing efforts to enhance political participation, security, and counter-terrorism initiatives.
Additionally, the new government will focus on cultural and national awareness, moderate religious discourse, economic reforms, increasing local and foreign investments, and encouraging private sector growth. Efforts will also be made to control inflation and stabilize markets, aiming for comprehensive improvement in the state’s economic performance across all sectors.
The current government has been instructed to continue its duties until the new government is formed.
