President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has instructed the government to continue efforts to develop all lakes across the country, with a focus on maximizing the economic component of development projects.
This includes organizing marinas and boats for fishermen to increase the utilization of fishery resources and use these projects to create job opportunities.
The surrounding areas will also be utilized to establish urban communities and tourist centers, contributing to improving living standards in these regions.
President Sisi emphasized the importance of continuing to rely on national companies while considering the environmental aspect.
This directive came during a meeting today between President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, General Kamel El-Wazir, the Minister of Transportation, El-Qusi, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Hani Suleiman, the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, General Osama Rabie, the Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Ahmed El-Azazi, the President of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces.
Ahmed Fahmi, the official spokesperson for the Presidency, stated that the meeting included discussions on various governmental matters, including efforts to remove encroachments and carry out dredging work in Egypt’s lakes.
It also covered ongoing development programs and projects related to harnessing resources associated with these lakes, as well as legislative frameworks for lake protection and regulation.
