Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Military Production, General Mohamed Zaki, met with General Michael Kurilla, the Commander of the US Central Command, and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense.
The meeting addressed several topics of mutual interest in light of current regional and international developments, particularly amidst the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip.
General Zaki emphasized the strong relations between the Egyptian and US armed forces across various military fields.
He highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts among all influential powers in the international community to achieve de-escalation, a ceasefire, and to intensify the delivery of aid through the Rafah land crossing to alleviate the severe humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinian people in Gaza.
General Kurilla commended Egypt’s pivotal role in achieving security, stability, and balance in the region and its efforts regarding the crisis in Gaza.
He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting the strategic partnership and continuous coordination between the Egyptian and American armed forces.
Additionally, General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, also met with General Kurilla, where discussions focused on enhancing military cooperation between the two countries.
The meetings were attended by the US Ambassador to Cairo, the US Military Attaché in Cairo, and several leaders from both the Egyptian and American armed forces.
