Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan underscored the significance of Saudi Arabia as one of the most important countries in the region, expressing a commitment to engaging in cooperation across multiple sectors.
Erdogan emphasized the influential role Saudi Arabia plays in the investment field. Over the past two decades, contractors have successfully executed projects in Saudi Arabia worth $25 billion, a figure testifying to the Kingdom’s investment potential. He expressed a hopeful vision for Turkish companies to play an even larger role in the Kingdom’s thriving business landscape, according to Al Arabiya.
President Erdogan further exemplified the Kingdom’s achievements by pointing to the successful organization of the Hajj season after the easing of COVID-19 restrictions. He noted that approximately 88,000 of his fellow citizens had the opportunity to fulfil their Hajj obligation this year. In a demonstration of Saudi Arabia’s support and solidarity, the Kingdom facilitated the pilgrimage for Turkish citizens affected by the earthquake.
President Erdogan’s statements spotlight the strength of Saudi Arabia’s positioning on the global stage, not just in terms of its economic contributions, but also its significant role in hosting religious events that draw millions from around the world. As he indicates, cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Turkey holds promising potential for greater mutual benefits in the future.
