Facebook has introduced the option for users to set up multiple personal accounts, aiming to provide a more tailored experience on the platform.
This long-awaited feature addresses the hesitancy some users feel in sharing certain content due to blending professional and personal spheres.
For instance, users might want a distinct profile for close friends, ensuring more intimate sharing, or even a dedicated profile for specific interests, such as books.
Every account will showcase a customized feed, and toggling between accounts won’t require logging in. However, certain features like dating, marketplace, professional mode, and payments won’t be accessible on the additional profiles at the outset.
Facebook said: “We heard from people that clearer organization of friends, groups, and interests helps them feel freer to engage with the audience they believe is most relevant.”
“Creating multiple personal profiles lets you easily organize who you share with and what content you see for the various parts of your life.”
A spokesperson told TechCrunch that Facebook had been testing the option to create additional profiles for the past year.
“The option is now starting to roll out globally as we’ve seen a positive response to giving people more control if they want to separate their social graphs or organize profiles based on interests.”
Meta recently unveiled a revised version of Facebook’s logo, with a deeper shade of blue and slight adjustments to the lowercase “f”.
The goal behind this makeover was to craft a bolder, more enduring, and electrifying representation of the Facebook logo. This new design accentuates harmony throughout, making it a prominent aspect of the app’s branding.
A standout feature is the “richer expression of Facebook’s core blue shade”, designed for better visibility within the app and to make the “f” more pronounced.
