French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, expressed gratitude to Egypt for its dedicated efforts in delivering aid to the Gaza Strip.
In discussions with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, the two diplomats focused on enhancing joint coordination to address the pressing humanitarian needs in the region.
Colonna took to social media platform X to convey the progress, stating, “More than 100 tons of humanitarian shipments have already been delivered, and we are continuing our efforts. There must be an immediate truce and increased aid, and work without delay after that.”
Simultaneously, France strongly condemned the recent strike targeting the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza, resulting in the injury of seven people.
Highlighting the importance of international humanitarian law, French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anne-Claire Legendre emphasized that these laws apply universally.
Legendre stated in a press release, “International humanitarian law provides, in particular, the protection of hospital institutions and imposes always and everywhere clear principles of distinction, proportionality, and precaution.”
The condemnation underscores the commitment of the international community to uphold the principles of humanitarian law, especially in conflict zones where the protection of civilian infrastructure, including medical facilities, is paramount.
