A major cabinet reshuffle is expected in French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne’s team this Thursday.
Sources close to the French presidency have indicated changes in the Health, Education, and Social Solidarity ministries.
In the imminent cabinet reshuffle, the young minister Gabriel Attal is anticipated to replace Bab Ndiaye as the Minister of National Education. Furthermore, the Ministry of Social Solidarity is expected to be entrusted to Aurore Bergé, succeeding Jean-Christophe Coub.
The State Minister for Social and Solidarity Economy, Marlène Schiappa, is expected to step down. Schiappa has been facing criticism for her management of the Marianne Fund and her controversial magazine cover appearance.
François Braun, the incumbent Health Minister, is expected to be relieved of his duties. Rumors suggest Aurélien Rousseau, the former director of the Prime Minister’s Office, may succeed him. These indications have been confirmed by reliable sources and the French channel “BFM.”
French President Emmanuel Macron, amidst the pressures from recent unrest in the country, has decided to retain Elisabeth Borne as Prime Minister. Borne herself expressed the need for “adjustments” within the government team.
A consultant to the executive power confirmed that the cabinet reshuffle will be announced this Thursday, without specifying the exact time. An official at the presidential palace also hinted that the reshuffle would “most likely” take place on Thursday.
