Japan announced on Wednesday that the Group of Seven (G7) nations strongly condemns North Korea for sending shipments of weapons to Russia and for its recent missile tests conducted by Pyongyang.
This statement came from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs following discussions held by foreign ministers of G7 member countries in Tokyo, as reported by the French news agency AFP.
The ministry stated that Foreign ministers of G7 member countries strongly condemn North Korea’s repeated launch of ballistic missiles and the transfer of weapons from North Korea to Russia, which directly violates relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
In the same context, G7 nations reaffirmed their unity in supporting Ukraine in its resistance against the Russian invasion of its territory.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry noted that The foreign ministers agreed that the G7 will remain united in its stance, which includes imposing strict sanctions on Russia and providing strong support for Ukraine, even in the current international situation.
The condemnation of North Korea’s actions and the support for Ukraine demonstrate the G7’s commitment to upholding international norms and addressing global security challenges.
