The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza announced on Saturday that the death toll from the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip has risen to 33,686 since the war began on October 7th.
According to the ministry, the Israeli bombardment has resulted in 33,686 deaths and 76,309 injuries since October 7th.
They added that several victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, with Israeli forces preventing access to them by ambulance and civil defense crews.
Israeli airstrikes and ground incursions into Gaza have continued since October 7th, resulting in the deaths of 1,140 Israelis, with 240 individuals being taken captive and an estimated 129 still held within the territory.
It is believed that 34 individuals have died while in captivity. Following the assault, Israel pledged to eliminate Hamas.
The death toll in Gaza continues to rise steadily, despite international appeals for Israeli forces to minimize harm to civilians in the new phase of their military incursion into Gaza, which commenced on December 1st, following the expiration of a ceasefire with Hamas.
Israeli airstrikes have targeted healthcare facilities and hospitals, while Israel has detained several medical workers during its ground offensive. Health services in Gaza are in a catastrophic state, according to the World Health Organization.
Israel faces increasing international pressure to allow more aid into the devastated Gaza Strip, which is on the brink of famine after six months since the war began on October 7th.
