The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Sunday that the death toll from Israel’s aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 36,439 martyrs and 82,627 wounded since October 7th, according to agencies.
The ministry stated in a press release that Israeli forces committed four massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of 60 civilians and the injury of 220 others in the past 24 hours alone.
Thousands of victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, inaccessible to ambulance and civil defense crews.
The conflict between Israel and Gaza has a long and complex history, characterized by recurrent cycles of violence and tense relations.
The recent escalation in hostilities has further exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with civilian casualties mounting and infrastructure severely damaged.
Gaza, a densely populated coastal enclave home to nearly two million Palestinians, has been subjected to multiple Israeli military operations over the years, leading to widespread devastation and loss of life.
The blockade imposed by Israel has compounded the suffering of Gazans, restricting access to essential goods and services, including medical supplies and humanitarian aid.
The international community has repeatedly called for an end to the violence and a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
However, efforts to broker a ceasefire and resume peace talks have often been stymied by deep-seated political divisions and entrenched grievances on both sides.
